Havening Techniques®What is Havening?
Havening Techniques® are an innovative science based set of techniques that offer an effective and reliable way to treat a whole range of issues, by permanently ‘delinking’ the emotion from the distressing memories. This creates permanent changes in the brain, allowing a person to be free of the debilitating effects and responses, both somatic and emotional. These techniques can also be used for resilience building and personal growth. |
"The only way to discover the limits of the possible is to go beyond them into the impossible." - Arthur C. Clarke "The mind is like a parachute. It works best when open."
- Frank Zappa |
Who has developed it? Havening is a psychosensory therapy that has been developed by Dr Ronald Ruden in collaboration with his brother Dr Steven Ruden over the last 14 years. These American doctors, who run medical and dental practices in New York, have been researching, developing and clinically testing the Havening Techniques®. How does it work? The human body is an electrochemical organ. It is the Havening Touch that generates low frequency delta waves in the brain, which cause an electrochemical reaction and the release of certain hormones and neurotransmitters. Havening Techniques® require only the brief activation of a memory, after which Havening Touch® is applied to the arms, hands and face, either by the practitioner or the individual. This in conjunction with distraction techniques changes the brain chemistry, a process that depotentiates (removes or de-links) the activated receptors in the brain where the memory is stored. This ground-breaking approach is proving to offer fast and permanent changes, without the need for clients to disclose distressing details of the event. Many people describe the process as being very relaxing and feel a sense of lightness afterwards, as well as surprise and amazement at the results! What can Havening or Amygdala Depotentiation Techniques (ADT) be used to treat? Psychological and emotional areas include : · Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) · Distressing memories · Fears and Phobias · Unwanted feelings: anger, grief, abandonment, stress, frustration, anxiety, shame, cravings · Panic attacks · Pain issues · Psychological & physical symptoms linked to trauma · And many other problems... Resilience building:
Please visit the official Havening Techniques® website for much more detailed information: www.havening.org “ When an event or experience is perceived as traumatic or very stressful it becomes immutable encoded, often with life-altering consequences. However, recent research from the field of neuroscience has shown us how it’s possible to modify this encoding.” Dr. Ron Ruden MD. PhD, Developer of Havening Techniques™ “ Havening, also known as Amygdala Depotentiation Therapy (ADT) is going to change the face of therapy across the world. What used to take months to cure can now be done in minutes in most cases: PTSD, trauma, pain, depression and many more disorders. The initial study at Kings College London shows the remarkable effectiveness of this extraordinary set of processes. This is not to be confused with other psycho-sensory techniques, TFT, EMDR, etc. Whilst they are very good, Havening is light years ahead. If you want to be an excellent therapist, you can't afford not to learn this breakthrough approach.” Paul Mckenna, hypnotist and author |
